Paperless Office

I remember when a paperless office was the focus for all software and PC companies. The only trouble was, that as we became more involved with PC's we seemed to create more paperwork. It's a strange situation. This article below might help you to fight against the growing paper army in your office.

Is your office paperless? WHY NOT!?!

Every office employee has paper to deal with. Paper intensive offices, such as lawyers, doctors, manufacturers, distributors and sales organizations
actually use paper to store vital information on. This information is critical to the companies success.

Large consulting and analytical companies, like Xerox and the Gartner Group, have studies that show
why document efficent companies are more successful and profitable. Imaging a lawyer billing at $400 an hour, yet spending 15% of there time trying
to find information stored on a piece of paper. What about a Doctor's office that needs to access information from a remote site because of a critical
patient.

In general, we all work with paper. Finding paper and working with it
is archaic compared to today's technology.

Companies that reduce the amount of time their employees have to work with paper documents actually get more out of each employee. Most people are hired to do a job because of there skills and understanding of specific knowledge. While these people are becoming more and more valuable, they
are spending more time (and frustration) with paper documents.

For example, if an individual was to be paid $35,000 a year salary, the average uplift (taxes, insurance...) makes them a $48,000 a year investment. If this person spends 10% of their time looking for documents, filing, copying, or faxing documents, you could increase there net worth by 10% simply by eliminating these redundant tasks. Organizations whom have had Syracuse

on there workflow have seen
how easy it is to recover lost time through inefficiencies.

To review: If you can increase the efficiency of an employee, you'll get more
of there valuable time focused on core competency which should directly impact
your company's bottom line.

If you don't work towards a paperless environment, your customers and clients
will soon find others within your industry who are more productive and typically
cost less.
